Welcome to Crain Acres Rabbitry/Caviary - Located in Chico, Ca. We currently breed Netherland Dwarfs, Polish, and New Zealands. I occasionally have Lionheads and Holland Lops. Also we have Broken, Tortoise Shell & White, Agoutti and other various colors of American cavies!
I had Dutch bunnies and cavies when I was younger. I grew up on a farm and have over 30 years experience raising almost every variety of poultry and exotic birds to horses, sheep, & goats - you name it!
All of my bunnies receive the best possible care. We also grow our own organic veggies to feed them on our property. I was located in Loomis/Granite Bay most of my life but moved to Chico about 10 years ago.
I am a member of the American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club, The American Federation of New Zealand Rabbit Breeders, American Polish Rabbit Club, American Cavy Breeders Assosication, and the American Rabbit Breeders Association. We are also an American Rabbit Breeders Association Registered Rabbitry & American Cavy Breeders Assosication Caviary.
We show in both Open and Youth as our children all show and love the bunnies and cavies also!
Our bunnies are handled daily by me and our children so they get plenty of interaction. They also get to go out into our bunny runs where they can hop, dig, chew grass, and just be bunnies! We grow a lot of our own fruit and vegetables here so our buns get plenty of homegrown organic treats!
We raise Netherlands in varieties:
Group 1 (selfs): Blacks, Blues, and Ruby Eyed Whites
Group 2 (Shaded): Sable Points, Siamese Sables, Seals, Siamese Smoke Pearls, Black Torts, (occasionally blue torts)
Group 3 (Agouti): Chinchilla, Squirrel, Chestnut, and Opal
Group 4 (Tan): Black Otter (occasionally we get other tan based colors)
Group 5 (Any Other Variety): Black Himalayans, and Brokens (from above varieties)
We also raise New Zealands in Black, Blue, and Broken.
In Polish we have Chocolates, Blacks, Blues, Lilacs, and Brokens.
Lionheads in Black, Tort, Rew, and occasionally other colors.
We go not breed Flemish Giants very often but when we do they will be in the colors of Sandy and occasionally Fawn.
Hollands are new to us and we will be doing Blue Eyed Whites, Torts, Broken, and other various colors in the future!
We spend time with all of our animals and they are well socialized and used to children. Any money made goes towards the care of the animals and for our daughters showing fund. BUNNY LOVE!!!
